Peanut Soup Recipe
Spicy Soup With Crushed Roasted Peanuts
- Crush in a mortar and pestle, in a bag using a rolling pin, or briefly in a blender:
- 1 cup roasted peanuts
- Mix together with the peanuts in a bowl:
- 1 TBS cumin/coriander powder
- 1-2 teaspoons hot red pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 2 TBS fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped
- 3 cups water
- IN a saucepan, heat:
- 1 TBS vegeatable oil
- pinch hing
- 1 teaspoon cumin/mustard, sesame seed mixture
- When the seeds pop, add the peanut mixture. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and serve.
- This goes well with corn chapatis and stuffed onions.
