Wada Recipe
Fried Whole Wheat And Chickpea Flour Rounds
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine well by hand:
- 3/4 cup Indian whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup chickpea flour
- 1/2 Tablespoon fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped
- 1/2 Tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin/coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon hot red pepper powder, or to taste
- pinch hing
- Add about 2/3 cup water, enough to make a sticky dough
- Lay a very wet paper towel on the counter. With wet fingers, press balls of dough into pancakes of cardboard thickness.
- Deep fry in oil until browned, then drain on paper towels.
